What is the age limit for Canada PR?

Canada has a point-based immigration system to give permanent residency to skilled workers from all over the world. The fastest way to get Canadian immigration is the Express Entry program which evaluates the applicant on various factors for Canada PR eligibility - age, education, work experience, language proficiency, arranged employment, and adaptability. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is another popular immigration program for moving to Canada with similar selection criteria.

Let’s discuss the age limit for Canada PR and what factors affect your Canada CRS score.

Age Limit for Canada PR

The first and major factor for Canada PR is age. Though there is no limit to the age at which an individual can apply for PR through the Express Entry program, the chances get less with each passing day as they are growing older.

The applicant must be 18 years or older to apply for Canada PR. The age factor gets you the maximum points when you are in the age group 18-35. Although, you can apply for PR up to the age of 45 years.

About every two weeks, IRCC conducts an Express Entry draw and candidates who have submitted their profile receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. For the Express Entry next draw, look out for the latest updates on the Nationwide Visas website.

Besides this, the CRS system has four main human capital factors, and the score gets higher if the applicant is single. The maximum score an individual without a spouse or common-law partner can get is 500 points and 460 for those with a spouse or common-law partner.
